Well, Annabelle made it. The campout was a success, though I’m still not sure my body has forgiven me. The ground is hard! And I prefer sleeping on soft things.
We started off the night with a little campfire in our portable fire pit. We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on actual sticks. Then we played some games in the tent before settling in for sleep. The kids slept fine, all the way through. We also had great weather, around 68° for sleeping. Now I’ve opened up a can of worms, though. They want to know when we’re going camping next.
Hmmm, maybe I should invest in a sleeping pad.
