My Dog Is A Scaredy Cat

Willow the Wonder Mutt is a scaredy cat. She is the sweetest dog out there, but loud noises send her
for cover.

Thunder really shakes her up. This isn’t that unheard of in pets. At least she tries to hide from the noise rather then running from it. My friends once had a dog run off and never came back!

I got a much more humorous reminder of just how much of a scaredy cat Willow is on our first night in the northwoods of Wisconsin.  It had been a long day on the road. I was settling into bed, and Willow was curled up at my feet. Just as we were dozing off, something outside wailed.  My ears recognized the call of the Common Loon instantly, but Willow had never heard such a noise. She nervously looked my direction.  The loon busted out that cackling laugh once again, and Willow was convinced there was a banshee in the backyard.  She tucked her tail and disappeared under the bed for the rest of the night.  She did grow accustomed to the loon laugh by the end of the weekend, but memories of that first night will bring a smile to my face for a long time.
I wonder if there are any cats out there that are scaredy dogs?
