This old table needed a new life, and Goodwill is filled with little cheap tables that need a new life! It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money or take a lot of time, either. This table had a couple of broken drawers and to repair first, and then I solicited help from my kids to cover the top of it with buttons. The whole project took less than an hour. Here’s how we did it.
Supplies: Buttons and glue
How-to
- We first cleaned the top of the table.
- Next, we found a clear glue. I’ve never used this Loctite craft glue before, but it worked great. We just spread a thin layer over the wood and then pressed the buttons down.
- We worked in small sections because the glue started drying pretty fast. It all dried clear and we didn’t have any clean up, so that was nice, too.
- Now the tables sits under a window near my computer desk. The entire thing cost about $15. I spent $10 on colorful buttons off of eBay and then the glue was another $3-5. If you’re lucky, you could find an old jar of buttons at Goodwill, too.
